What is a Program Volunteer?
Program Volunteers work directly with our clients - sharing their skills, talents, and knowledge with homeless men to equip them for their future.
What is the Level of Commitment?
Program Volunteers commit to coming in to Hope Awaits on a semi-regular basis as their schedule permits. Each volunteer can decide:
Which day(s) of the week they are interested in volunteering
What time of day they are interested in volunteering
How often they would like to volunteer
What Programs Could I Lead?
Depending on your skills, talents, and knowledge, you could volunteer to lead one or more of the following programs:
Balancing a chequebook
Cover letter writing
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
Decision Making Skills
Problem Solving Skills
Coping with stress, trauma, and loss
Freedom from addictions
Impacts of lying and deceit
Do I Qualify?
Program Volunteers must
Be 18+ years old
Complete a volunteer application form
Agree with Hope Awaits Ministries' statement of faith, mission statement, vision statement, and core values
Be able to provide their own transportation
Have a friendly personality
Complete the shelter training provided by our staff
Have the talent, skills, and/or knowledge required to lead a program
