Statement Of Faith
God
We believe there is one God (Ephesians 4:5-6; 1 Corinthians 8:6), creator (Genesis 1:1; John 1:3) and supreme ruler of all things (Psalm 47); indescribably glorious (Isaiah 6:3), holy and worthy of all praise (Revelation 4:11, 5:12), honour and love (Deuteronomy 6:4-6); eternally existing in three equal persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 28:19).
Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 1:18, 10:30), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:27), His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), His miracles (Matthew 9:6; Hebrews 2:4), His substitutionary death through the shedding of His blood on the cross (Romans 5:8-9; 1 Corinthians 15:3), His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:1-7; John 20:6-18), His ascension (Luke 24:51) to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Acts 5:30-31; Hebrews 1:1-3), and His imminent return in power and glory to establish His kingdom (Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8).
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit personally indwells all believers (John 14:15-17) and bears witness to their relationship to God (John 15:8). The Holy Spirit imparts spiritual enlightenment (John 14:26), conviction of sin (John 16:8), and the divine power for witnessing and service (John 15:5).
The Bible
We believe that the Bible, as originally given in its entirety, is the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21). It is verbally inspired without error and is the sole and absolute authority on faith and life (2 Peter 1:20-21).
Salvation
We believe that everyone needs salvation, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23; Isaiah 64:6). We believe in salvation from sin (1 John 2:2), solely by God’s grace (Titus 3:7; Romans 3:22-24) through faith in the atoning sacrifice of Christ’s death on the cross (Romans 5:8-9; 1 Peter 2:24) whereby believers are reconciled to God (Romans 5:11; John 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
Good Works
We believe that the ministry of evangelism and serving the poor is the responsibility of all followers of Jesus Christ (Proverbs 25:21; Isaiah 58:10; 1 Timothy 6:18-19; Hebrews 13:16; Matthew 25:34-40, 28:18-20; James 2:14-17; Acts 1:8).
