Position Description
Hope Awaits Ministries houses up to 8 men at a time; some for a short time, some for a longer period of time. The staff at Hope Awaits Ministries, along with the volunteers, work with clients to help them get re-established in the community, as well as share the truth of the gospel with them when opportunity arises.
Client Care volunteers cover part of a shift and assist with the day-to-day operations. Volunteers can choose either a 8 hour shift, or a 4 hour shift.

- Helping clients with alcohol and/or drug addictions
- Connecting clients to other services that could help them if needed
- General day-to-day operations of Hope Awaits Ministries
- Directing in-house volunteers
- Being ultimately responsible for the clients and the daily operations of Hope Awaits Ministries
Volunteers at Hope Awaits Ministries are responsible for:
- Being an encouragement to the things that clients are learning at Hope Awaits Ministries
- Directing clients to speak to a staff member if they need assistance in an area you cannot help them in
- Assisting in the daily operations of Hope Awaits Ministries as directed by a staff member
What is the Level of Commitment and Where Does This Happen?
We ask that our volunteers commit to coming in on a semi-regular basis as their schedule permits. In the volunteer application form applicants can identify when they are available to volunteer as well as how often they would like to volunteer.
Volunteers will be working at our facility located at 390 First Ave E. North Bay.

Do I Qualify?
A volunteer must…
- Be a person of good reputation and above reproach (1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 2:7-8)
- Be level-headed and self-controlled, not controlled by bad habits or addictions (1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:7)
- Be honest and genuine (Proverbs 12:22, 1 Peter 3:10-12)
- Love what is good, upright, and holy (Titus 1:7-8)
- Have a gentle, patient, and gracious spirit, not given to violent outbursts of anger, not quarrelsome (1 Timothy 3:3, Titus 1:7, 2 Timothy 2:24)
- Be an example to others (1 Timothy 1:16, 1 Timothy 3:7, 1 Peter 5:3)
- Have a passion to help men in need
- Be able to sign Hope Awaits Ministries’ statement of faith
- Be organized, reliable and punctual
